(UNDERGROUND RIVER with ZIPLINE)
Beneath the 1028m St. Paul Mountain lies the Underground River, said to be the longest in the world. Board an outrigger boat from Sabang Wharf and reach the park entrance in about 25 minutes. From the park entrance, visitors can tour the river on smaller canoes paddled by park guides. A few meters into the cave it becomes pitch-black. Bats and swiftest roost above you and crabs, freshwater shrimp and fish swim in the river. The boat travels upstream through passages 12m wide and 15m high, passing through domed chambers with fascinating paleothems. The path inside the cave takes about 45 minutes roundtrip before you’ll have to jump back on the outrigger boat back to Sabang.
A short hike up a mangrove forest leads to the starting point of an 800-meter zipline across the beach. The zipline length will provide you speeds of around 60kph as you race down, a good way to cap your Underground River experience.
