Cutting Edge Topics of Endometriosis and Adenomyosis

This course aims to provide the participant with an overview of new developments in the field of endometriosis management. Current knowledge on the molecular and genetic basis of endometriosis provides insights into the origin of the disease, the clinical course and possible future innovative therapy. Controversies in the medical and surgical management of endometriosis will be tackled including the optimal approach to each of its various phenotypes as well as the strategies needed to manage associated infertility.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, participants will:
1. Gain an overview of the molecular, genetic and epigenetic mechanisms in the development of endometriosis.
2. Discover the role of the microbiome in the pathogenesis of endometriosis.
3. Determine the value of conflicting and complimentary medical and surgical treatment approaches.
4. Understand the application of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) in preserving, and restoring the fertility of women with endometriosis.

This course is jointly organised by the ASPIRE Endometriosis SIG and the Reproductive Surgery SIG.
